Hello!

I'm Kim, founder and Producer of Afterstorm Productions.

 

AfterStorm Productions was born from determination: a belief that powerful stories shouldn’t be locked behind impossible budgets, inaccessible studios, or endless gatekeeping.

I started as a scriptwriter and actor years ago, constantly networking, mailing scripts, and hoping to find the right collaborators. No matter how much interest my work received, the same barrier kept appearing — production was too expensive, too technical, and too far out of reach.

For a long time, my stories lived on the page instead of the screen.

When digital filmmaking became more accessible, something clicked. During lockdown, I began experimenting — creating short films at home, testing cameras, recording sound, editing scenes, and teaching myself visual effects.

 

I took filmmaking courses to build confidence and understand every stage properly: pre-production, shooting, audio, editing, VFX.

It wasn’t easy.

Budgets spiralled. Locations were costly. Studios were out of reach.
I was repeatedly told I’d need “umpteen crew members” and that it would be impossible to create anything professional without them.

But I refused to stop.

So I adapted — working with minimal crew, learning multiple roles, and designing production methods that maintained quality without sacrificing ambition. I learned how to plan obsessively to prevent wasted time and money. I learned how to combine real actors with modern tools — AI, virtual environments, digital production techniques — to create cinematic worlds that would otherwise be unaffordable.

And that’s how Afterstorm Productions was created.

Today, I write, produce and direct original narrative films, music videos, and actor showreels — focusing on clever storytelling, inventive visual strategies, and affordable filmmaking that still looks like cinema.
